Ras Laffan C Gas Thermal IWPP Project QATAR

Chubu Electric Power Company (“Chubu”) began participation in this project in July 2008. The project is located 80km to the north of the Qatari capital, Doha in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area and has constructed natural gas thermal power plant with an output of 2,730MW and water desalination facilities with a daily output of 290,000 tons. Operations and maintenance began in 2011 to sell electricity and water to the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) over a 25-year period.
JERA succeeded to this project from Chubu in July 2016.
