(Introduction)
JERA Co., Inc. and JERA Group companies (hereinafter referred to as the " JERA Group") recognize that it is our social responsibility to properly handle and protect personal information (including “individual number (My Number)” and “specific personal information (personal information including “My Number”)"). To fulfill this responsibility, we shall comply with laws and regulations and handle personal information appropriately in accordance with this Policy.

The JERA Group shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations, guidelines of relevant authorities and company rules established with respect to the handling of personal information.

To ensure the proper protection of personal information, the JERA Group shall appoint a personal information manager, establish internal rules for the protection of personal information, and provide internal training for directors, officers, employees, and other personnel on the handling of personal information.
We will also conduct internal audits on the implementation of personal information protection.

(Collection of Personal Information)
The JERA Group will acquire personal information through legal and appropriate means.
(Personal Information Security Management Measures and Ensuring the Accuracy of Personal Information)
The JERA Group will endeavor to securely manage personal information and implement necessary and appropriate security control measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information due to unauthorized access or other reasons.
The JERA Group will also endeavor to maintain accurate and up-to-date personal information in its possession to the extent necessary to achieve the intended purpose of its use.
(Supervision of Contractors Entrusted)
The JERA Group may entrust some of its business operations to contractors and provide them with personal information to the extent required. In these cases, the JERA Group shall enter into agreements with such contractors regarding the handling of personal information and shall exercise appropriate supervision over them.
(Disclosure or Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The JERA Group shall not disclose or provide personal information to third parties unless:
- The consent of the individual concerned has been obtained (disclosure or provision of specific personal information is limited to only when it is necessary to protect human life, limb or property.);
- It is necessary to protect the life, limb or property and is difficult to obtain the individual's consent;
- It is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a person or entity entrusted by it to conduct matters prescribed by laws or regulations, where obtaining the consent of the individual concerned may interfere with the execution of such matters;
- Personal information is provided in connection with business succession;
- Personal information is disclosed or provided to contractors to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of its use; or
- Other cases are where disclosure or provision to third parties is permitted by laws or regulations.
(Disclosure or Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties Located in Foreign Countries and Regions)
When providing acquired personal information to a third party in a foreign country, the JERA Group shall provide such information to a third party that has established a system that conforms to the standards prescribed by the Order of the Personal Information Protection Commission or shall obtain the prior consent of the identifiable person to allow the provision to a third party in a foreign country.
(Joint Use of Personal Information)
The JERA Group may jointly use acquired personal information with those as described in this Privacy Policy under "2. Scope of joint users."

The JERA Group shall respond promptly to requests for disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of "retained personal data" based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in accordance with laws and regulations after confirming that the request is made by the person in question. However, we may not be able to respond if:
- There is a risk of harm to the life, limb, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party;
- There is a risk of causing significant interference with the proper business operations of the JERA Group;
- Compliance with the request would violate any law or regulation; or
- The request is not made in accordance with the procedures established by the JERA Group.
(Improving the Protection of Personal Information)
The JERA Group shall continuously review and improve the protection of personal information.
