JERA Global Institute is a think tank established to
strengthen JERA’s intelligence and analytical
capabilities on energy trends in Japan and around
the world. By collaborating with external experts and
partners, the Institute deepens JERA's
understanding of an increasingly complex energy
landscape and supports well-informed, forward-
looking decision-making. Through this work and its
close connection to JERA’s business activities, the
Institute contributes to building a resilient, future-
ready foundation for energy supply.

Who we are?

The global energy landscape is undergoing rapid and profound transformation—driven by accelerating decarbonization, heightened economic security concerns, and rising geopolitical uncertainty. To navigate this increasingly complex environment and anticipate emerging developments, JERA established the JERA Global Institute, an internal think tank dedicated to strengthening the company’s foresight and strategic intelligence.

With a focus on Japan, Americas, Europe, and Asia, our work integrates regional understanding with cross-functional analytical capabilities. Leveraging data-driven methodologies and quantitative modeling, we deliver both qualitative and quantitative insights that support timely and informed decision-making across JERA.

By engaging with external experts, we maintain flexible thinking and a neutral, objective perspective to forecast global energy landscape. And by equipping JERA’s diverse business teams to navigate global developments with timely, well-grounded analysis, the Institute serves as a strategic compass—supporting the creation of a resilient, future-ready energy system and advancing JERA’s mission to deliver value to society.
