JERA handles approximately 35-40 million tonnes of LNG annually and operates across the full value chain from upstream equity positions and long-term supply agreements, through shipping and logistics, to power generation across Japan and the world.

JERA participates across the energy value chain through one integrated LNG platform, supported by two complementary companies; JERA Global Energy Solutions (JERA GES) and JERA Global Markets (JERAGM). JERA GES secures LNG and lower-carbon fuel supply, builds and manages the long-term supply foundation of the portfolio through upstream investments, long-term contracts and portfolio strategy. JERAGM, which is JERA's exclusive trading and optimization business, then operates and optimizes that portfolio in the global market, providing market access, short term risk management and trading expertise.
Together, the two companies combine portfolio depth, supply resilience, and market responsiveness, enabling JERA to respond effectively to changing market conditions while maintaining security of supply to Japan.

JERA Global Energy Solutions (JERA GES) is a wholly owned company established by JERA. JERA GES brings together strategy, portfolio management, and market development, that enable JERA to build a competitive, stable, and diversified LNG and lower-carbon fuels portfolio. It is responsible for developing and managing JERA’s long-term LNG portfolio through upstream investments, LNG origination, shipping, and long-term sales, while advancing lower-carbon fuels such as ammonia and hydrogen.
