Wind Power IPP Project THAILAND

In 2011, Chubu Electric Power Company (“Chubu”) acquired the shares of both First Korat Wind and K.R. Two, the operating companies of this project to participate in a wind power generation project in northeastern Thailand.
The project operates a total of 180MW (90MW x 2) of wind power generation facilities on approx. 37km2 of land in Nakhon Ratchasima Province (approx. 260km northeast of Bangkok) and is the first full-scale commercial wind power generation project in Thailand. The generated electricity is sold wholesale to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (herein referred to as “EGAT”) under a power purchase agreement.
JERA succeeded to this project from Chubu in July 2016.
