JERA’s renewable energy strategy is guided by a clear, three-step roadmap to build a strong and competitive global platform.
After establishing a solid foundation in Asia, we created a Center of Excellence in the UK to merge global expertise with local insights. This “glocal” approach strengthens our onshore and offshore wind, solar, and green fuel businesses, allowing us to combine international best practices with deep local knowledge to scale projects effectively in diverse markets.
Looking ahead, our focus is on strategic collaboration and partnerships to accelerate growth, diversify our portfolio, and manage risk. As part of this evolution, we launched JERA Nex to drive onshore renewables and new technologies. We also formed JERA Nex bp―a 50:50 joint venture with bpーto build one of the world’s leading offshore wind platforms.

Happy: a fully operational solar farm in White Country, Arkansas
Oxbow: a fully operational solar farm in Louisiana. It is the largest solar farm in the state.
JERA Nex acquired these assets in 2024, Schroders Greencoat acquired a 50% stake in both assets in 2025.
