Solar Power IPP ProjectOur Company / Investment Projects
In 2013, Chubu Electric Power Company (“Chubu”) acquired the equity stake in a company engaged in the development and operation of mega solar power plants in a total of six locations (with a contract capacity of 30.9MW) in central and northern Thailand.
This project has a long-term purchase agreement to wholesale electricity to be produced to Thailand’s Provincial Electricity Authority (referred to herein as “PEA”) based on Thailand’s VSPP Program1.
JERA succeeded to this project from Chubu in July 2016.
1VSPP Program:
Electricity producers who produce less than 10MW are called Very Small Power Producers, and the Thai government purchases their entire energy output through PEA. They are entitled to apply to receive an incentive (subsidy payments) for the purpose of promoting renewable energy.
