JERA inherits a 70-year history of providing stable power in Tokyo, Nagoya, and surrounding regions. We have expertise in operation and maintenance (O&M), as we currently own and operate power plants with a total capacity of approximately 70 GW worldwide and 139 units at 26 power plants with a total capacity of 59 GW in Japan. We bear the responsibility for our long-term business, from construction to O&M of power plants and fuel terminals, and ensure harmony with local communities.
We offer world-class O&M services by combining the accumulated expertise with the cutting-edge technologies from around the world to ensure the safe, competitive, and flexible operation of power plants and fuel terminals for customers in every country.
O&M Engineering
Based on the expertise gained from long-term and global experience, we are strengthening cost competitiveness by reducing downtime for periodic inspections while ensuring safety, and achieving flexible operation by increasing the types of fuels consumed at power plants. We are also making efforts to decarbonize by converting fuels to non-fossil fuels worldwide, including the ammonia conversion project at Hekinan Thermal Power Station. In addition, we are introducing remote monitoring using digital technologies, predictive management using big data, and new technologies such as batteries to achieve world-class O&M (the "JERA O&M Way").
O&M Services – Engineering Consultancy Services to customers
We are expanding the "JERA O&M Way" globally and providing O&M services to numerous power generation companies mainly in North America, Asia and the Middle East to meet the needs of customers in each country. Our proactive approaches involve collaborating closely with customers to identify and implement optimal solutions.
