Water Pollution CountermeasuresSustainability / Environment

Wastewater generated by operating the power stations is purified in a wastewater treatment facility and released under constant monitoring by continuous water quality measurement equipment. Also, in order to suppress the rising temperature of the seawater used in the condenser, low-temperature seawater from the deep layer is slowly taken in; the flow velocity of the water is reduced when discharging the water, and water is slowly discharged to the surface of the ocean to lessen the impact on the surrounding environment.

  • Measures to reduce wastewater:
Water used at the power stations is treated in the wastewater treatment facility and released as clean water. The wastewater is constantly monitored by water quality measurement equipment.
  • Measures against warm drainage:
A curtain wall is installed to take the seawater used in the condenser, low-temperature seawater from the deep layer is slowly taken in; the flow velocity of the water is reduced when discharging the water, and water is slowly discharged to the surface of the ocean to lessen the impact on the surrounding environment.
