Resumption of Operations at Anegasaki Thermal Power Station Unit 62022/10/21

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) has decided to resume operations at Anegasaki Thermal Power Station Unit 6 (the “Unit”), which is currently under a long-term planned shutdown, beginning in February 1, 2023.

Because the Unit had deteriorated over time and its utilization rate had declined, the Unit has been in a long-term planned shutdown since April 2021.

Based on discussions at the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry's Electricity and Gas Basic Policy Subcommittee, and discussions regarding electricity supply with  transmission system operator(TSO) led to an agreement, so JERA has lifted the Unit’s long-term planned shutdown and will operate it as measures to address additional power supply capacity for this winter.

In addition, Unit 5 is scheduled to resume operations on October 24 to supply auxiliary steam for the restart of Unit 6.

JERA will move forward to restore the Unit from its long-term planned shutdown and will make every effort, in cooperation with related parties, to ensure a stable supply of energy.
