JERA and TPC Sign MOU on Low-Carbon Energy Cooperation2026/07/30

JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taiwan Power Company (TPC), Taiwan’s largest and only vertically integrated power utility, to establish a framework for the exchange of knowledge and technical expertise on low-carbon energy technologies and initiatives.

The partnership reflects the shared interest of JERA and TPC in supporting Taiwan’s energy transition towards a more sustainable and low-carbon energy future. 

Under the framework of this MOU, the two companies will exchange knowledge and technical expertise related to the assessment of low-carbon fuel value chains and low-carbon fuel power generation technologies, and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). 

Building on JERA’s core competence across energy value chain, JERA is pioneering efforts to establish Japan’s first end-to-end low-carbon ammonia value chain by fiscal year 2029, with initiatives already underway across key segments of the value chain, including production, transportation, and power generation. 

This MOU brings together JERA’s global experience in low-carbon fuel value chains and the deep expertise of TPC in Taiwan’s energy market to support discussions on potential pathways for decarbonization.
