Efforts to Move Toward Zero-CO2 Emissions Power Consumption at Prestige International BPO Sites2024/06/03
JERA Co. Inc. (“JERA”), as part of an initiative to move toward zero-CO2 emissions power consumption at all business process outsourcing (“BPO”) sites run by Prestige International Inc. (“PI”), has begun supplying electricity to PI’s Iwate BPO Fortress on 1 June, which opened today, through an onsite solar PPA.
PI, whose group philosophy is “to listen to end-user (consumer) inconveniences and troubles, engage in business creation that will lead to solutions, and grow as a company that contributes by providing solutions to social issues through that development,” and JERA, a company driving pioneering zero-CO2 emissions efforts in the energy sector, have been considering ways to combine their respective strengths to cooperate in moving toward zero-CO2 emissions power consumption at PI’s BPO sites.
Going forward, JERA will, through its subsidiary JERA Cross*1, gradually introduce 24/7 Carbon-Free Electricity*2 at all of PI’s BPO sites.
In addition, JERA and PI will draw up a roadmap leading to zero-CO2 emissions power consumption at PI’s BPO sites and achieve CO2 reductions.
Through efforts such as zero-CO2 emissions power consumption at BPO sites, JERA will continue its efforts to achieve a sustainable society.
