Establishment of an Accident Investigation Committee Related to the Fire at Taketoyo Thermal Power Station2024/02/05

We offer our deepest apologies to the local community and other stakeholders for the inconvenience and concern caused by the fire that occurred at Takeyoto Thermal Power Station on 31 January 2024. 

As the energy company that operates the power station with the understanding of the local community, we have today established an accident investigation committee related to the fire at Taketoyo Thermal Power Station to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the incident and ensure that such accidents do not reoccur.

Chaired by JERA Director, Corporate Vice President, and Managing Executive Officer Mr. Tetsuya Watabe, the committee will include Nagoya University professor Mr. Ichiro Naruse as an outside expert to ensure the application of objective, specialized knowledge as it seeks to identify, based on a thorough investigation and analysis, both root causes and means of preventing recurrence.
Results of the investigation will be announced at an appropriate time as progress is made.
