Personal Information Protection Policy

JERA Co., Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "JERA") recognizes that proper handling and protection of personal information (including "Individual Number (My number)" and "Specific Personal Information (personal information including "Individual Number")") is our important social responsibility. In addtion to compliance with laws and regurations, JERA shall handle personal information appropriately in accordance with the policy set forth below in order to fulfill this responsibility.
（Compliance with Laws and Regulations）
JERA shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations, guidelines of relevant authorities and company rules concerning the handling of personal information.
（Development of Internal Systems）
JERA shall assign an officer reponsible for managing personal information, established company rules about privacy protection, and provide internal training and education to officers and employees concerning the handling of personal information in order to protect personal information appropriately.
We shall also conduct internal audits of the status of personal information protection.
（Purpose of Use of Personal Information）
JERA shall define the purpose of use of obtained or retained personal information, and disclose it to the public or notify the person concerned.
The obtained personal information shall be also used within the scope of the purpose of use to carry out JERA’s business operations in a proper and uninterrupted manner.
However, of the acquired personal information, “Individual Number” and “Specific Personal Information” shall be only used within the scope of the purpose of use in order to perform affairs stipulated by laws and regulations.

（Obtaining Personal Information）
JERA shall obtain personal information through legal and appropriate means.
（Personal Information Security Management Measures and Ensuring the Accuracy of Personal Information）
JERA shall strive to manage personal information securely and implement necessary and appropriate security control measures to prevent leakage or loss of, damage or unauthorized access to any personal information.
JERA shall also endeavor to ensure that the personal information in its possession is accurate and up to date within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
（Supervision of Contractors Entrusted）
JERA may entrust part of its business operations to contracors and provide them with personal information to the extent required. In these cases, JERA shall conduct appropriate supervision over them, such as concluding an agreement regarding the handling of such personal information with these contractors.
（Disclosure or Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties）
JERA shall not disclose or provide personal information to any third party, except in one of the following cases:
- The consent of the person concerned has been obtained.
- It is necessary to protect human life, body or property and is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned.
- It is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, local goverment body,
- Personal information is provided in connection with business succession.
- Pesonal information is disclosed or provided to a contractor within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of its use.
- Other cases are where disclosure or provision to a third party is permitted based on laws and regulations, etc.
（Disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use of personal information）
Regarding request for disclosure, correction, deletion, suspention of use of "retained personal data" based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Japan, JERA shall endeavor to promptly respond to your request in accordance with laws and regulations after confirming your identity. However, JERA may not be able to fulfill your request in the following cases:
- There is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person in question or a third party.
- There is a risk of significant impediments to the proper business operations of JERA.
- Fulfilment of the request constitutes violation of laws and regulations.
- The request is not made in accordance with the procedures specified by JERA.
（Shared Use of Personal Information）
JERA may share personal information with companies belonging to the JERA Group in accordance with laws and regulations in order to carry out operations associated with business management as the JERA Group and to provide comprehensive services.
（Improving/Enhancing the Protection of Personal Information）
JERA shall strive to continuously review and improve/enhance the protection of personal information.
