Realize a new work style system to become a company where all employees can play an active role in their own style.

After implementing remote work for an extended period of time as a response to COVID-19, we conducted a survey of employees and found that while there were positive comments such as "I can now concentrate more on my work" and "I have more time to spend with my family," there were also issues such as a "lack of communication" and "difficulties in management, thus indicating the need to balance office work and remote work.

In response to this, JERA has introduced a new telework system, a “hybrid work model" that combines office work and remote work. By allowing employees to choose flexible work styles that do not depend on time and place, we aim to improve work-life balance and work efficiency, and to become a world-class company where employees can work energetically with increasing job satisfaction and a sense of achievement.

Work flexibly in a variety of workplaces.

JERA allows employees to flexibly change the time and place of work depending on the work situation of the day, for example, “I want to concentrate on creating documents," "I want to discuss ideas for new projects with my team," or "I want to work close to home because I need to go to the hospital in the evening,” etc., choose from a variety of workplaces, including home, office and satellite offices, and work with a high degree of freedom. In the case of childcare or nursing care, it is possible to work intermittently, alternating between work and personal use.

Allow full remote work from home while balancing work with childcare and nursing care*

Full remote work enables employees who have had the dilemma of having to work shorter hours or take a leave of absence due to family reasons to work while balancing childcare and nursing care. At JERA, the ideal way of working can be realized while equal importance is placed on both family and work.

* Employees eligible for full remote work for childcare or nursing care reasons are “those with dependent children up to the sixth grade” or “those with care receivers up to the second degree of kinship.”

“Allow full remote work” by "eliminating transfer without family" or "accompanying a partner on an overseas assignment”*

JERA has many offices in Japan and overseas, and many of our employees transfer without family. In response to this, JERA has allowed employees who do not wish to transfer without family to work fully remotely. In addition, in the past, employees had to take a leave of absence when their spouses were transferred overseas to accompany them, but now they can continue to work fully remotely if they wish and the company allows it. We will pursue the happiness of our employees and their families by considering the circumstances of each employee and allowing them to work actively in the way of working they want.
