JERA and Nebras Power Conclude a Memorandum of Understanding Related to the Overseas Power Generation Business2016/11/25

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) has today concluded a memorandum of understanding with Nebras Power related

to the overseas power generation business. The signing of this memorandum was conducted as part of

the tenth meeting of the Japan–Qatar Joint Economic Committee hosted by the Japanese Ministry of

Economy, Trade and Industry, and in the presence of representatives from both countries’ governments

such as H.E. Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar.

Under the memorandum both companies, sharing the goal of uncovering excellent overseas power generation projects, agree to exchange information and jointly examine opportunities to invest in the development of overseas power generation and water desalination projects.

Nebras Power is a subsidiary of Qatar Electricity & Water Co. (QEWC), Qatar’s state-run energy company, which invests in power generation and water projects outside Qatar.

JERA and Nebras Power both participate in a power generation project in Oman and have already built a good relationship. The new memorandum is expected both to further strengthen the bonds between the two companies and spur efforts to develop future outstanding projects.

JERA will continue to leverage the breadth of its business, which covers the energy value chain from upstream fuel investment through power generation, while proactively participating in the development of overseas power generation projects in cooperation with other domestic and international energy companies.
