The Establishment of Chita Energy Solutions LLC and the Conclusion of a Contract for Construction Work on Power Generation Facilities in Preparation for the Construction and Operation of Chita Thermal Power Station Units 7 and 82025/02/04

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) and Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (“Toho Gas”) hereby announce that they have established, through joint investment, Chita Energy Solutions LLC as the implementing body for the construction and operation of Chita Thermal Power Station Units 7 and 8, and that this LLC has concluded a contract with Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation, Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation, and Taisei Corporation for construction work on power generation facilities.
Conclusion of this contract marks the start of preparations to operate a highly competitive, cutting-edge LNG thermal power plant designed to reduce environmental impact, with the aim of beginning construction work in 2026.

 

Furthermore, the LLC was established on 24 January 2025 following discussions based on the Implementation Agreement Concerning the Joint Development and Operation of Chita Thermal Power Station Units 7 and 8 that was concluded between JERA and Toho Gas on 23 December 2024. (23 December 2024 press release.) The LLC will construct, operate, and maintain Chita Thermal Power Station Units 7 and 8.

 

Through the LLC, both JERA and Toho Gas will share their respective expertise and resources to further enhance the value of the project, moving it forward with the understanding of local communities and other stakeholders as they aim to provide a stable supply of competitive energy and contribute to achieving a decarbonized society.
