Establishment of JERA Transaction Monitoring Committee2023/05/31

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) respects market competition and engages in trading and other business activities that comply with the law, of course, but that are also fair and equitable, to continue acting in line with our responsibilities as an energy company that delivers electricity and gas domestically.
Now we have established the JERA Transaction Monitoring Committee, a body established directly under the president and includes external experts, to further increase transparency by checking and verifying such trading and other activities from a third-party perspective.
Through the establishment and operation of this committee, JERA will take the lead in building a fair and equitable domestic market for trading electricity and gas. At the same time, by further committing ourselves to fair and equitable trading, through market competition we will seek to ensure that enterprise profits are returned to our customers, the end consumers.

 

1. Scope of the Committee
・To check the legality and appropriateness of wholesale electricity and gas market transactions
・To check the internal vs. external non-discrimination Power Purchase Agreement and Gas Sales Agreement
・To check the legality and appropriateness of other transactions (including transactions with shareholders) under Competition Law and Business Law

 

2. Membership
The committee consists of five members, including an External Lawyer and External Accountant, Senior Managing Executive Officer (BSS),Head of the Business Infrastructure Development Group and Head of the Legal Group.
