Establishment of JERA Miraiful, a New Company to Promote the Employment of People with Disabilities2021/04/01

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) today established JERA Miraiful Co., Ltd. (“JERA Miraiful”), a new company to provide increased work opportunities for people with disabilities.

JERA’s efforts to date to employ people with disabilities have followed our basic approach that having diverse people working together to the best of their abilities in a fair and equitable environment of mutual respect can both contribute to the organization and lead to personal growth.

The objective of JERA Miraiful is to create employment opportunities that promote independence and participation in society among people with disabilities for whom employment opportunities remain limited. JERA Miraiful will prepare facilities and working conditions to address various kinds of disabilities and move forward with hiring based on a planned start of business in April 2022.

JERA Miraiful will have its main business sites in the cities of Yokohama and Nagoya and be contracted by JERA to conduct business such as uniform management, gardening (flower and strawberry cultivation, flower bed management), and office support. JERA Mirailful aims to expand gradually and to employ approximately 60 people with disabilities in fiscal 2026.

JERA Miraiful intends to apply for recognition as a special subsidiary under the Act for Promotion of Employment of Persons with Disabilities.

JERA will continue to promote diversity and inclusion as it implements a variety of initiatives to become a company whose employees—its most important management resource—can each grow and make the most of their abilities.
