Our Business / Thermal Power StationsSafety Measure of LNG Terminal
LNG Leakage Prevention, Early Detection, and Leakage-Spread Prevention
At our LNG terminals, in preparation for the unlikely event of an LNG leakage, safety measures are being implemented based on the following 3 concepts: (1) leakage prevention, (2) early detection of leakage, and (3) preventing leakage from spreading.
For example, in order to detect leakage at an early stage, gas detectors, etc., are installed and centralized monitoring is conducted in the central control room.
We have been operating safely for over 40 years since the introduction of LNG. We strive to further strengthen our safety measures and take all possible measures in our operation.

Comprehensive Disaster Prevention Panel

A comprehensive disaster prevention panel has been installed in the central control room, enabling continuous monitoring of the gas detectors, low temperature detectors, monitoring cameras, etc., and the operation of water curtains, sprinkler water-supply facilities, powder fire extinguisher system, etc., at once.
Liquid Collecting Tank

In the event of any leakage, liquid collection tanks are installed around the LNG tank to prevent LNG leakage from spreading.
Fire Extinguishing Pump

A large-capacity fire pump is installed in preparation for the unlikely event of a fire. Pumps are usually motorized, but it can be backed up by diesel engines. A dry powder fire track with high mobility has also been deployed.
Water Curtain

In preparation for the unlikely event of a gas leakage or fire, water curtain facilities have been installed to reduce diffusion of leaked gas and radiant heat from fire.
