Falcon Gas Thermal IPP Project

In 2011, Chubu Electric Power Company ("Chubu") acquired the equity stake in MT Falcon Holdings Company S.A.P.I. de C.V. (hereinafter referred to as “Falcon”) from Mitsui & Co, to invest and participate in an existing natural gas thermal power project located in northeastern Mexico.

Falcon owns five natural gas combined-cycle power plants in northeastern Mexico. Each power plant has a 25-year purchasing agreement with Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission, and is therefore expected to yield stable revenue over the long term.
JERA succeeded to this project from Chubu in July 2016.
