Cricket Valley Gas Thermal IPP Project U.S.A

In January 2017, JERA acquired the equity stake in Cricket Valley Energy Center, the operating company of a natural gas thermal power project in New York, U.S.A. through its wholly-owned subsidiary.

Since April 2020, Cricket Valley Energy Center has been operating a natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation plant with a power generation capacity of 1,100 MW. The power produced will be send on the wholesale electricity market in New York and contributes to the reliable supply of electricity. As the largest investor, we will be a lead contributor to drive the project forward utilizing our expertise in power plant construction and operational know-how accumulated through participation in the overseas IPP business.
